Last week recap… Stefano went home. Was 2 out of 3 on bottom 3.  

Carole King week. 

Duets too? WTF? *facepalm*

Jacob - I still haven’t removed my palm from my face. I don’t plan to for the next 3 minutes. I can’t. I just can’t. Goodbye.

Randy & Jacob should take a trip to the Abbey after the show. Oops. Did I say that out loud?

Lauren - Babyface’s advice to her was the best she’s had all season. “Have you ever tried and not hit the note?” Exactly. Someone needed to tell her that. Not going to mention Miley. Her best performance since auditions. How cute was it when she brought the kid up and sung to him? That was really great. Cheesy, but I could see a music video in my mind while she was doing it. The judges are dumbasses.

duet #1 - Haley & Casey - I have to say that Casey is really starting to rub me the wrong way. He seems to have gotten cocky. Too cocky. It was cute at first, but its wearing on me. Too much growling. Too much crazy faces. Too much of not trying to harmonize. Hayley was really great on this song. I cannot believe I just said that. I never thought I would. Don’t tell anyone that I said that.

Scotty - Him trying to be sexy is hilarious. Every time he looks at the camera, I can’t help but snorting a little. Its really humorous. Yes, the singing was really great. I still stand by my prediction. He’s got the little girls and the grandmas.

The great thing about Carole King’s writing is that they can be sung a multitude of different ways. They are very well written. As much as I feared it, this was a good choice for a theme week.

James - Is that new ink on his arm? I don’t remember him having that. Proof that I am a child of the 80’s: When I here this song, I think of Dirty Dancing. I am over James too. I think I am over them all, at this point. I am Switzerland on this performance. I did like it better than his screaming. Hey Randy, did Nigel tell you to say that about James winning, cuz that came out of left field.

The whole reason James auditioned was to be the next American Idol? NO WAY! I’ll bet he’s the only one.[/sarcasm]

duet #2 - Lauren & Scotty - Cute little kids.

Casey - This had so much potential, but he started growling too much. I liked it, but it could have been way better. I have a theory about Casey. It appears to me that he is out for exposure and not to win. I can’t really say that I blame him. And the judges were actually right when they told him less growl. That’s what I just said.

Haley - in the pimp spot. WAIT… WTF is Haley wearing on head?!?!?!?!? She struggled on this song. During the versus, it felt like she was pushing really hard to get the words out. She was better in the duet. I think she will be this year’s Syesha; the one no one predicted to make it in to the top 3. 

duet #3 - Jacob & James - No thank you. James needs to not wear tight, white anything. They call the buffalo knuckle, right?

my bottom 3 - Jacob, Haley, Casey (that was tough to pick, because Jacob is leaving no matter what.)

I have been getting very reflective this holy week. More often than not, I think in more general, spiritual terms. But this time of year, I think about the basis of my faith, my religion. Today being Holy Thursday, I felt like sharing a song precisely about that.

Speaking of super lame. When have they have had the rejected contestants come back to perform BEFORE the finale? It was totally jacked. Poor Paul.

Scotty - Scared about the fact that he wanted swings on stage. Jimmy said he was old enough to know what the song is about, but I wonder about that. I am still confident in the fact that Scotty has this in the bag. I can’t really critique him after that was decided.

James - Why did he put that dumb jacket on? He looked ok during the intro with Ryan. I hate to say it, but I think his days are numbered.  

Haley - I am not liking this. Adele is beyond amazing. This is not. There will never be another Adele. Haley just bugs the shit out of me. I want her to go away.

No Will.i.am this week. Does anybody care either way?

Jacob -  This was just ok. It was similar to last week when he was more under control. He sounds much better when he does that. He should have stood up when the song hit the crescendo. I cannot believe that Randy wants him to go back to crazy screaming. That is dumb. He is signing Jacob’s death warrant, just like with Pia.

Casey - Jimmy’s idea of not bringing the band in until the chorus was very good. It gave the song a little twist from the original. It was the first time that someone tried something different with a song. Really. You know that’s true. But it was just flash. The rest of the song sounded just like the original. I have decided that Casey is totally bi-polar.

I love how Steven Tyler claps.

Stefano - I am NOT surprised AT ALL that he is singing Ne-Yo. This is the genre that should be singing, however this is creeping me the f*** out. Little Squirt needs to stop.

Lauren - Boring. Song choice was her issue this week. I actually want her to take JLo’s advice. She has “it” so she needs to step up.

The more I think about it, it really does not matter who wins. We all know that after 9 years. That being said, I will rephrase what I said about Scotty earlier. He will be the most successful of all the contestants, whether he wins or not.
